Lieutenant

The Brandon Police Department is currently recruiting and accepting applications for the position of Police Lieutenant, The ideal candidate shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred, in management, criminal justice or related field from an accredited college/university and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the police profession as a sworn officer with at least 3 years at the command level (Sergeant or above).  Possession of a valid motor vehicle license, certification as a fulltime officer by the Vermont Criminal Justice Council, or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire. When fully staffed, the position is responsible for oversight of 6 full time officers, 3 level II officers and an administrative assistant.

Full Time Patrol Officer

The Town of Brandon is accepting applications for a full-time patrol officer.

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum requirements: be at least 18 years of age, be certified or certifiable as a police officer by the VT Criminal Justice Training Council (VCJTC), possess a valid VT drivers license, and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. Preference will be given to those applicants who are currently certified through the VCJTC. However, those without certification are also encouraged to apply.

The application process includes; entrance testing as required by the VCJTC (written, physical fitness and MMPI), medical/physical exam, oral board, polygraph exam, extensive background investigation and criminal/motor vehicle records check.

Brandon offers a competitive starting wage for full-time officers, including a benefits package of medical, dental, life, disability, retirement, paid sick time, vacation and personal time.  Uniforms and police equipment are provided.
